When was Fargo “United”?

May, 2008.  The team was created after the AA Jr tryouts which had a dozen plus players from the FM area in attendence.  Brent Kotchman said he’d help them make a tournament team and shortly thereafter the program was born.  He organized practices in Fargo (while he still lived there) and still helps run our practices down here.

Who made up the original members?

Too many to list, majority still with the team.

Who came up with the team name and the idea to put FU on the jerseys?

Jake Feigum came up with that idea.  The FU being prominent on the front is what it is.

How has Fargo united expanded and grown over the years?

FU peaked at close to 30 players at the end of 2008.  The attrition rate in paintball is high and FU has gone through its fair share of players.

What are some major accomplishments of Fargo United?

Being on the podium in almost every event played.  Utterly dominated MWPPA #3 in 2008 and sweeping the podium (1st thru 4th).

Is there anyone that is apart of the organization that we should watch out for in the future?

This is a bogus question.  FU is team orientated and built around loyal players that are Brown and Blue until the wheels fall off.

What tournament series does Fargo United currently play?

Anything AA puts on.  FU also played in the 2009 Vicious Series.

What is the average age of the players on the team, are they all from the Fargo area?

Almost everyone is from the Fargo-Moorehead area, players range in age from 15-35ish.

What would you say is an area that the team excels at?

Group accountability.  FU is lucky to have a number of players that are able to put aside individual wants to focus on team needs (a very rare thing in paintball)

Are there any weaknesses that you have or are trying to over come?

Balancing a team this big is a challenge for everyone involved.  Most paintball teams last less than 2 years.  FU is just getting over that hump and is looking forward to remaining a competitive local team and always open to regional challenges.

Who are some of your sponsors, and what do they do for you? (need not be too detailed)

Air Assault provides field time for practice and hooked us up with Planet Eclipse.  FU is a self-sufficient team with each member contributing their fair share.

Who does Fargo United consider to be its rival?

Anyone at the other end of the field.  Fuck em.

Where does the team typically practice & play?

Air Assault, APPG, the ‘Nam (ValleyPaintball in Sabin, MN)

What does the future hold for Fargo United?

Trophies.  Lots of them.

Is there anything else about the team that you’d like to touch on?

Fargo United would like to thank those that have put us in this position.  You know who you are.  Also, Jay Shelley is/was/always will be a cheating fuck and Seth is only in that wheelchair cause he is lazy.
